Pet food bank North East UK has been established to meet the needs of those people who are having difficulty caring for their pets and supplying their day to day needs such as food (wet and dry), cat litter, shavings, bedding etc.
We help a cross section of the population such as the unemployed, the elderly, homeless, students, people in crisis such as sudden illness, fleeing domestic violence the reasons people need help are as varied as the pets.
Where do you get supplies?
The majority of supplies for the pet food bank are donated by individual people or businesses in the area. Cash donations also enable us to buy in bulk from cheaper online suppliers.
Do recipients need to give you personal details?
We do require some personal details, this is to avoid misuse, we need correct name, address and contact information as well as the numbers, names and details regarding pets in the home. We may also ask for proof of identity.
Do you assist all types of pets?
We help all domestic pets though mostly Cats and dogs we also help guinea pigs, hamsters, rabbits and occasionally pet birds too.
What kind of donations do you need?
We need both financial and pet food and supplies donations. The latter would include cat litter boxes, cages, toys, blankets, litter itself, shavings and dog/cat/rabbit food and treats.
